Panic in the Pool

May 9, 2012

Today the children completed 8 weeks of swimming lessons.  Nobody learned to swim, but, hey, it was something to do.  If we sign up for another session, Charlie will be passed on from the Jellyfish class to Sunfish, a fact he reminds us all of regularly.  Elisabeth has been asked to repeat Jellyfish. This may be in part a result of her reluctance to enter the water, preferring to spend most of her time making houses for herself by draping towels around on the deck chairs.

We only experienced one real moment of panic and it was on week five when Charlie began hollering at me from the pool, near tears, “Mom! Mom! I can’t remember what Miss P is!  Girl or Boy? I don’t know what she is!”

Other than that scare, swimming lessons were uneventful.

And Miss P says, “Hey.”
