Love and Marriage.

August 15, 2011

Sunday afternoon I woke from a little nap to find Charlie and Dan on the bed in the guest room watching the end of “Sweet Home Alabama”.  Dan claims he was just trying to better understand my Alabama roots, but clearly they both enjoyed the film.  After it ended, Charlie wandered into the living room:

Me: “Hey, Charlie, were you watching a movie with Daddy?”

Charlie: “Yes.  They kissed.”

Me: “Well how did you feel about that.”

Charlie: “Happy.”

Me: “Why?”

Charlie: “Because I was thinking about kissing Daddy.”

I told Dan, and he said that would explain why Charlie whipped around and gazed into Dan’s eyes with a big smile on his face during the kissing scene.  Charlie is not the only one in the house in love with Daddy.  Elisabeth insisted on calling him at work recently to pop the question: “Daddy, will you marry me?”  Of course he said yes.

Love it! Levi asked me last night if his molars would ever come out, and I said that he might lose them when he’s twelve. “And that’s how old you are when you get married,” he replied. A momentous age, indeed.
