Sighted in Minneapolis

May 24, 2011

Charlie stood on the front porch frantically pointing at a Somali couple walking together up the street.  The woman was wearing a flowing burka with a long pink head covering,  the man, jeans and a t-shirt.

Charlie: “Mom, mom come quick.  Look at this mom!  Come quick.”

Me: “What is it, Charlie?”

Charlie: “Mary and Joseph!”

In addition to a Mary and Joseph sighting, we discovered a birds nest today,  just at eye level,  in the cherry tree in our front yard.  We will miss seeing this baby hatch.

That’s my boy Charlie—seeing life with a Biblical world view! Love it.

P.S. comment: I think it is a robin”s egg–and another may be coming down the pike!

Wow! For the first time, I understand the description “robin’s egg blue.”

Lucy, this is a fabulous picture. The bird’s nest is a work of art. How do birds fashion those things with the materials they have at hand? You have captured the intricacy of it so well.
