A Quick Word of Praise

February 25, 2011

While reading together from the Big Picture Bible:

Me: And then Joshua said, “As for me and my house we will serve the Lord.”

Charlie: Pensive silence.

Me: “Charlie, who will you serve.”

Charlie: (in a reverent whisper) “Betsy.”

It has been difficult to find time to update the blog of late.  We are showing our house which amounts to nothing short of panic each day when the phone rings and we have little time to make our house look THE BEST IT’S EVER LOOKED and then keep it that way long enough to get the children into the car.  Surely this is good preparation for something, such as needing to get everyone out in the event of a fire, if the  fire fighters were important dignitaries such as the president. I did want to take the time to praise my sister Betsy for being almost indistinguishable from our Lord (at least in Charlie’s eyes) and to praise my husband, Dan, for his skills with super glue.  Just last weekend Dan remarked casually, “Something big fell off of your car, but I stuck it back on.” The situation in the photo below, another example, is Dan gluing our coffee maker back together. (note the important leverage provided by the apple and the spoon).  Reminds me of the words shouted by a stranger at a wedding reception recently when, after singing the Lord’s Prayer (operatic style), Dan took command of the dance floor and did “the worm”:

Lest my youngest son’s head should swell, let his Mom remind him, “but he doesn’t grill!”

We pray for a sale of 3305 SOON. Gramdma
